Saying it in words is still the easiest. But some things are handier to tap, and some are worth knowing so the reminder comes exactly when you need it.
In the app on the reminders screen, and on the website above your reminders, there is a New reminder button: the text, the time, the repeat (once, daily, weekdays, weekends or chosen days) and a date. There too: a Sound for this reminder alone, and warnings beforehand. The same editor opens under Edit for any reminder at a set time.
You can dictate the text — the 🎤 in the field (in the app). The Fill in from the text button sets the time, the day, the repeat and a warning from words like "tomorrow at 9 call mom", "on weekdays at 7:30" or "in 20 minutes", and leaves "Call mom" as the text. These are simple rules, not a language model: they use no requests, but they will not understand the harder things ("when I get home", the weather) — then choose the fields yourself or say it in the chat. Check what was filled in before you save.
A reminder made with the form takes a place in the list like any other, but uses none of your monthly requests to the assistant — those count only the messages the language model reads.
"Remind me about the meeting at 9 and warn me 10 minutes before" — two notifications arrive: "⏳ In 10 min: meeting" at 08:50 and the reminder itself at 09:00. Up to three warnings: "…and an hour before as well". In the form (in the app and on the website) it is the "Warn me beforehand" section.
Quicker, from the reminder's menu: ⋮ → Second reminder (⏳ on the website). Before: 1, 5 or 10 minutes, an hour or a day ahead. After: once more 1, 5 or 10 minutes, an hour or a day later — unless you pressed Done; if you did, the second one does not come.
Not the same as "remind me 10 minutes before the 9 o'clock meeting" — that is one reminder at 08:50.
A warning arrives in its exact minute or not at all — a late "in 10 min" is worse than none. During a mute or a quiet night it is skipped, and the reminder itself comes as usual. When the reminder arrives, the warning's notification goes away.
"If it rains in Lviv between 8 and 10, remind me at 7 to take an umbrella": the forecast is checked for those hours only. Rain promised just for the evening will not set off the morning reminder. Without hours ("if it rains today…") it covers the whole day, as before.
"Remind me to buy souvenirs when I'm 10 km from Lviv" or "when I'm getting close to Kyiv, remind me to call" (no number means 10 km). We look the city up once on the OpenStreetMap map, and it becomes your place "Lviv · 10 km" — you will see it among your places and can rename or delete it. From then on, as with any place, the phone checks it: where you are is not sent anywhere for this.
"An hour before I arrive" is different: a time worked out once from the route, starting where you were when you set the reminder.
