Places matched on the phone no position sent for them

Looking for a free Telegram reminder bot that understands plain language? Just write “remind me to water the flowers when I get home”. Claude AI works out when to remind you. Use the bot with no app and no sign-up — or add the Android app for what no bot can do: reminders by place, WiFi and phone sensors.

AI-Powered Telegram Reminders — Triggered by Context, Not Just Time

Private by design*

Your saved places are matched on the phone: it compares your position with them itself and raises the reminder itself, without sending your position. The places themselves are kept in your account so they work on every device.

* Needs the Android app. Everything else works in the Telegram bot alone.

Brain Buffer is a context-aware reminder app and Telegram bot. Instead of firing at a time you had to guess in advance, a reminder waits for the moment it is useful: arriving at a place, walking past a supermarket, connecting to the home WiFi, rain forecast for tomorrow, or the phone going still. Saved places are matched on the device itself, so a reminder for one fires without your position being sent; only a “near any supermarket” reminder sends it, and only while you have one. Available as an Android app, a Telegram bot that needs nothing installed, and a web interface — and a family can share reminders without sharing where anyone is.

Questions and answers

Does Brain Buffer track my location?
Most of the work happens on your phone. A reminder for a specific place — home, school, "my shop near work" — is matched by the phone itself, and your position is not sent for it; the server only learns that the reminder fired. Your saved places (name, coordinates, radius) are kept in your account so they work on every device. A reminder "near any supermarket" is different: the server looks up the nearest one on the map, so while that reminder is on, the phone sends it your position. Rather not? Save the specific shop as a place.
Do I need to install an app?
No. The Telegram bot handles time, weather and schedule reminders with nothing installed. The Android app adds what a bot cannot do: reminders by place, WiFi and the phone's sensors. Saved places and WiFi are matched on the phone itself (WiFi since app version 1.0.31). Reminders like "when I'm driving" are checked on our server: the phone tells it how you are moving, and only if you have such a reminder. Bluetooth and NFC reminders are still in development.
Can I set a reminder for someone in my family?
Yes. A family shares reminders, not location: a reminder you set for someone arrives wherever they get their own reminders, a place reminder is matched by their own phone, and your family cannot see where you are. When you mark a reminder someone set for you as done, its author is told — you can switch that off in the Family section, separately for place reminders.
Is it free?
Yes, there is a free plan with no end date: 10 reminders, 3 of them by location, plus one timetable from a photo and a family. Premium lifts the limits and understands more complex wording.
